I began my genealogy work in 1998. At that time, there were over 1000 names in relation to my personal genealogy. All that was written was connected to the 1st source. Recently, additional information has been revealed and thanks to the new information, this group of names will grow. Documents related to my genealogy are located in Smolensk (a province of Russia). From here, my father's side of the family immigrated to the Ukraine in 1809. My mother's side of the family can be traced directly to the Cossacks (ancient inhabitants of Zaporozhya). For a long time, this has been my hobby but I've come to see that in the Ukraine, there are people who are interested in genealogy. Gradually, it has become my business. This site came about due to the advice of a man from Utah. He told me it is hard to find people in the Ukraine who have researched their genealogy. Part of my genealogical collection can be seen in the ection titled Your Family Tree. When this site was created, there were not enough local clients, so I decided to work on an international scale. I would like this to be a Ukrainian site, as far as the contents are concerned. This adventure through time holds more than 1000 years of history, starting with the earliest Ukrainian inhabitants whose genealogy can be traced. This site also includes more than 30 other countries to which Ukrainians have immigrated. For information on these places, refer to the section titled Ukrainians in Different Countries. The language in which information is given on this site is determined by the documents from which that information was taken. |
